Verum is a Malbec we've always liked. This is 100% Malbec (no blends) and it is a very limited (production less than 1,100 cases). The vintage for this wine is 2017.

If you have tried different Argentinian Malbecs, regions do matter...

Patagonia vineyards occupy the lower foothills of the Andes at 1,000 to 1,600 feet. Here cold air drops at night from incredibly steep elevations—the Andes reach well over 15,000 feet in this zone—a phenomenon that produces drastic diurnal shifts. Cold nights contrasted with hot summer days produce grapes with striking color, full ripeness, great finesse and aromatic intensity.

You can feel the Patagonian terrain and weather in this wine.

With an average aging of 10 years, all of its production is harvested by hand o the 100% sustainable Bodega Del Rio Elorza boutique winery in the Argentinean Patagonia.

Aging details: 10% in 2nd use French and 10% in 3rd use American oak barrels; rest in concrete tanks without epoxy.

Wine Enthusiast gave it 91 pts, and Tim Atkin gave it 90 pts.
